Is the 16th of August before the 15th? ... Anyway, here are more random nature pictures and shots of my bike. ZAT, the next character is almost finished. Here is a quick realtime render: ...and two more pictures:
Decided to record some Audiosurf. This is a pretty hard track a friend of mine sent me. It's tons of fun though once you complete it and here is a video of me beating my own score. PlanetSide 2 is normally a fastpaced FPS with large scale battles that take place on three big maps. Amerish, Esamir and Indar. True enough these are a great setting for a laser blasting game where no one is safe from aircraft, tanks and cloaking infiltrators. However sometimes you just have to stop and admire the beauty of the world itself. I went around and took some pictures, ignored the battles for a while and hopefully captured a more serene look that you wouldn't normally associate with PlanetSide. What else have I been up to? Not much. The scene for the United 3D Artists modeling challenge is still a work in progress but hopefully we'll get that done before the end of the month.
That is all. Have a nice day! This is the Electrical Vertical Energy Racer hover bike. It's something I threw together at me parents place while waiting for the new year. First model of 2014! Happy New Year everyone!
Here is another Interstellar Marines related design. The FCO-7 Full Automatic Pistol, something made in the spirit of the Glock 18 and other pistols and machine pistols of this type. I wasn't too happy with the first picture so I made some more renders: That's it for this blog and very probably this year! 2013 has been an interesting year that's for sure. Added plenty of new models to my portfolio.
Let's make more random stuff and SPACESHIPS next year! Have a nice new year! Mikom. Here is a fun thing I've recently come across: Hero Machine. It allows you to assemble 2D designs with pre-made assets in a way similar to Pimp My Gun. Here is one design I put together, Arya: This got me thinking, why don't I draw concepts more often? Sure I sometimes create 2D concepts for my 3D models but they're only intended as "concepts for a concept". I did some tests using a tablet in the GIMP: I'm hardly a 2D professional and the years of me not using a pencil have started to become noticeable even to me. This made me think of another thing. As I was drawing it occurred to me that even if I were to make the switch from 3D to 2D, I'd still miss the ability to look at my concept in 3D. Knowing that every aspect of my design has perfect perspective and that all details are objects and not just dots drawn out of lazyness. I may try some more 2D sketches, stylized ones like these. It may take some time though before I can actually get good results and actual proper proportions. I leave you with this image of a very narrow-sighted scientist. That's it for this blog, have a nice day!
Been working on some more concepts for Interstellar Marines? Why, well they seem to like it and I get more views and replies on there than on any other site so why not. Besides, on of my models has been sent to the developers of the game, who knows where that may lead.
Recently started playing some games I had left since the Steam summer sale as well as a game that was released recently. First things first, The Stanley Parable. If you haven't checked it out already, download the demo on Steam and play it. You won't regret it. This will in turn lead you to buy the game. It is the game I won't spoil in this blog, this means I cannot say a word other than it's good. Secondly. Sir, You Are Being Hunted. An indie open world survival game with a "tweedpunk" style, yes that is a term now. I could write a short review of the game explaining its basic mechanics but why bother when I have already made a 30 minute video showing the gameplay in detail: Last and definitely least: Risen 2: Dark Waters. A pirate game that (I think) is supposed to be made in the style of movies like Pirates of the Caribbean. Naturally since it's a video game it is completely overdone, shallow in story and poorly made in many other aspects. Now I may be giving this game to little credit but I got bored within ten minutes of playing it so that's about the extent of the video. Decide for yourselves: That's about it for this blog. Have a nice day!
